Infill and Wadi restoration
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The development strategy involved working with both freehold and leasehold land to form a development parcel large enough to fit both a championship golf course, practice range as well as a residential development that would have the critical mass to become a year-round community to take advantage of the Cypriot climate.
An innovative agreement was made with the local authorities regarding the use and reuse of water from both the surrounding communities and the development itself for irrigating the golf.
Jabal Ajlun Master Plan
Strategic development strategy
Kingdom of Jordan
The JADA (Jabal Ajlun Development Authority) in conjunction with a team of experts has prepared a development strategy for this unique region of Jordan. Based on promoting tourism, health and wellness, agriculture and supported by education, and other social services the goal for this area of Jordan is to become as well known and as memorable as Provence in France or Napa Valley in the USA. The plan calls for: the creation of 4 new forest and nature reserves (250,000 donoms) in the most sensitive and fragile areas with existing forest reserves protected. About 10,000 donoms of land (1% of total) needs to be disturbed to accommodate the development plan. Development projects shall be folded into the landscape to preserve visual and aesthetic amenities of the region. Urban sprawl is controlled through master planned new communities and regulated urban restoration.
