Elea Estates
Resort Village and Golf Club
Cyprus
Situated on a hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea this modern year round golf community of about 300 residences is anchored by a small hotel. Free standing villas, courtyard residences will be sold as freehold while a number of others will be managed and serviced by the hotel.
The 120 ha estate community is focused around a mixed use village center and connected to a golf club that overlooks the sea and the only championship golf course on the island designed by Sir Nick Faldo. The clubhouse and course is complete and the hotel and first villas are under construction. The property is being developed by the S. Z. Eliades Group.
The development strategy involved working with both freehold and leasehold land to form a development parcel large enough to fit both a championship golf course, practice range as well as a residential development that would have the critical mass to become a year-round community to take advantage of the Cypriot climate.
An innovative agreement was made with the local authorities regarding the use and reuse of water from both the surrounding communities and the development itself for irrigating the golf.
The golf clubhouse was designed with three objectives: as the premier golf clubhouse equal in quality as the Faldo designed course, second as the social setting for the members and their friends and third as the venue for the sales and marketing of the property. The clubhouse will also function as the social hub and administrative center of the property in the early stages of the development.
Generous terraces and a range of function rooms and members facilities as well as pro shop and members lounge are all serviced from a single kitchen. The building is designed to allow several functions to occur simultaneously without disrupting the players experience or clubhouse functions.
